"Funny People; Early Buzz is good"

Posted by: Andy Engel

Since my life revolves around Stand-up Comedy I am very excited about the new Adam Sandler movie
Funny people. The Movie opens this Friday and the early buzz is very positive. Rotten Tomato is already giving it great reviews. I think it will succeed where other stand-up comedy movies failed because its director is a former stand-up comic. Because he is a former stand-up he has a much better understanding as to how to make the actual Stand-up comedy scenes believable. If it is a hit I think that it will start a resurgence in Stand-up comedy and inspire a whole new generation to try it.

Since my life revolves around Stand-up comedy I am very excited about Adam Sandlers new movie "Funny People" that opens this Friday.Several people who have seen it and the early word on "Rotten Tomato" is that this movie will be a hit. One of the reasons I think it will succeed is that the director Judd Apatow is a former Stand-up comic. I think he has a better feel for how to film the stand-up comedy scenes and make them believable. If it is a hit I think it will start a resurgence in Stand-up Comedy. I will be interviewing an editor from the New York Times who wrote an article about in the next few days as well as posting my review before friday.
