Manhattan Comedy School

Learn why Manhattan Comedy School beats the competition

Our standup comedy school is perfectly suited to help you become a comedian because you’ll be getting comedy lessons from working comedians.

Faculty

Our faculty members are all active, successful stand-up comedy headliners with thriving careers. No other comedy school can offer the same caliber of teachers, with credits including HBO and Comedy Central specials, not to mention recent David Letterman and Craig Ferguson appearances. Clearly, they don't have to teach—but they do for us. And the old cliché that they go the extra mile really applies here. They answer your e-mails, extend class time when you need it, give you personal attention—everything it takes to make sure you're ready to hit the stage after six weeks.

Supportive Comedy Community

Manhattan Comedy School offers our students much more than just a class. You'll also benefit from a supportive comedy community. That includes private open mics where you have the luxury of performing—and failing—in a safe and supportive environment. Refine and tweak your set with quality stage time during New Talent shows. And you can update your DVD, which many of our students use to get work when they're ready.

See Comedy for Free or at Huge Discounts

We offer our former students both free shows and huge discounts on weekend shows on a regular basis. Bring your friends and they'll receive the same discount. Many Friday and Saturday headliners at Gotham include the biggest names in comedy!

Free Workshops/Seminars

We offer occasional free workshops and seminars to our students to help you advance your career.

Testimonials

We are very proud to have the endorsements of comedians Lewis Black, a comedy legend, and Jim Gaffigan, a future comedy legend. Their testimonials speak for themselves.

Locations

Our classes are held in midtown; graduation shows are held on the stage at Gotham Comedy Club in New York City.
